COMMUNITY MAPPING CONTEST

We have launched the official Mod Tools for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the PC and to celebrate, we’re holding a ‘Community Mapping Contest’ which allows you, the community, to take map making into your own hands and create custom multiplayer maps for the #1 selling game of 2007.

What’s your dream map? Wide open spaces perfect for sniping, or close quarters combat with plenty of cover to bound back and forth from? Maybe a nice mixture with plenty of avenues to attack from and some perfect choke points you can ambush from with the right amount of team work. Whatever you think makes a good multiplayer map, we want to see it. Most importantly, we want your best work.

On March 31st, we’re going to be choosing our favorite community made maps and award the map makers of our favorites picks with special prizing and opportunities which we can’t announce just yet but will be in the very near future (probably within a week). However the clock is ticking to get your map designed, as I said, we’ll be choosing our favorite community made custom multiplayer maps on March 31st.

So here’s how to get started:

STEP #1:

Download the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Mod Tools for PC

STEP #2:

Create your custom multiplayer map using the tools.

If you run into trouble, have questions, or need assistance in getting started; be sure to check out the IWiki. The IWiki has tutorials, guides, and is dedicated to helping the Call of Duty modding community get the most out of the tools.

STEP #3:

Submit and Share with the community via the dedicated Mapping Forum.

That’s It! Download the tools, start creating your dream multiplayer map, and we’ll be on the look out and choosing our favorites at the end of March.

Things To Keep In Mind

1 - Design your maps around your platform of choice (PC, Xbox 360, or PS3); as you never know where it could end up.

2 - Download and play other players custom maps and take notes. What’s cool? What’s unique? What’s fun about them?

3 - Beta test your custom maps. Post it on the forums, get friends to download it and play it on their PC and give feedback.

4 - You’ll need the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare installed to use the tools. So make sure you meet the minimum specs. 5 - Most importantly, if you have any problems whatsoever or have questions, jump on the forums or visit the IWiki for help.

Also…. did I mention we’re hiring Level Designers? Because we are, so if you’re the best, you should apply, because we take kindly to the best.
