Last night were the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Interactive Achievement Awards held along side D.I.C.E. in Vegas, where industry professionals cast votes for their favorite games of the year for categories such as Overall Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay, and more.
If you missed the live webcast of the event last night on Gamespot.com, then check out the Awards portion below. Fyi: SSgt. Griggs aka IW’s Lead Animator is also there to help accept one of the awards:
In the end, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was able to snag some amazing recognition including:
- Overall Game of the Year
- Console Game of the Year
- Action Game of the Year
- Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay
I can’t thank everyone who voted enough, this is an industry voted award so it really means a lot to know our fellow developers consider us and our games in high regard. Thank you!

Im surprised you got an award for this game considering the bugs it has. IW really do need to wake up and get the PS3 version sorted as more and more people are getting annoyed daily with various issues and its clear that when Rainbow Six 2 is released, there will hardly be anyone playing COD4.
