Heads up, that the new DLC maps from the Variety Map Pack are now integrated throughout the other playlists, in addition we’ve removed the Variety Map Pack exclusive playlists and heavily seeded the new maps in exisiting ones. Which means you have a higher chance of playing new maps in exisiting playlists. With that change, also came the end of Double XP.
So what was the average rank you guys ranked up during double XP? Anyone do any entire prestige during it?

I was shooting for a full cycle but got cut short. Went from level 42 2nd prestige, to level 31 3rd prestige. If you do double xp for PS3, I’m gonna have to do it all again. One of the problems with owning it for both systems.

I have the DLC, but what happens, when someone who hasn’t purchased the DLC, the DLC map comes up in rotation? Are they booted from the server/game? I have friends that play COD4 only periodically and didn’t want to purchase the DLC.

Why can’t we have the Variety Map Pack playlists still? I’d like to be able to get some new map only action for my money (more than a few days). Is it a too much maintenance? Too much weight on your servers? I’m not being a douche, I’d really like to know why they playlists can’t stick around as well as having the maps integrated into the other playlists. Is the online community not big enough to support the exclusive lists as well as give non-map-pack owners enough action?
I’m really curious. I really think having the exclusive list should be a part of having purchased the content… but that may just be a whining opinion.

you are correct and I’m a loser for forgetting to include that part in my comment. I posted this already on the thread at charlieoscardelta.com and should have copy/pasted it.
Private Matches are fine but aren’t the full experience. You can’t setup a private match and then rotate against random players, you can’t earn xp/rank (which is minor in my opinion), I just think that for 10 bucks it would be nice to have the option to play real matches (with or without your friends) whenever you want exclusively on the content you bought (understanding that others have to be present to play as well.

I hear ya about the restrictions here and there on play modes and maps. Me and a lot of my friends like the old treyarch COD3 way where it’s built around the unranked random party matches. If there were an option for “Unranked Matches” instead of “Private Matches” that’d be sweet. Sometimes I want to play Hardcore Domination, I don’t care about XP/Rank…. it’d be nice to open a lobby and have random folks join in.

I thought the PS3 already had a double XP weekend around the time that the game came out. I really love the way you were able to add the new maps to the existing playlists, by adding the installation as a variable in matchmaking. This a rare treat for those who shelled out the extra ten bucks. It’s invisible, seamless and it just works. Awesome. By far, this is the best implementation of DLC I’ve seen on the 360, to date.
I’ve done about a full prestige, in the past seven days, due in large part to the mondo hours I put into the exclusive playlists last weekend.
So, will you guys share how the DLC worked out financially for Infinity Ward? I’m interested to know how many you’ve sold, versus your 360 install base.

I have a ps3 and can’t wait for the new maps, i do however get tired of everyone complaining all the time about how xbox is getting everything so much faster, yeah it sucks but i can deal with it to have a better all around system. And to all the xbox users who are telling ps3 people to stfu and what not, you know that if it was reversed and ps3 got everything faster you would be the ones complaining all the time. Threads describing an 80010514 error for the PS3 have started to pop up in different forums across the Internet. It seems this error is associated with a malfunction of the Blu-ray Disc drive, which wouldn’t come as a surprise considering this next-gen optical disc technology is relatively new and it is still being developed and improved.

Losing with 5 to 235 (OMG!) But every time it’s on one of those old maps.
Today I played all day HQ & I got like 2 times one of the new maps (TWO TIMES!)
And one of them was almost finished like I said before.
It’s f*cking bullshit this game.
And what I hate the most is when I leave a game (after I get jumped into one where my n00bish team is heavily losing)
& I start searching again, the stupid system connects me again to the same f¨cking map, even twice !
I’m so tired of playing this game & buying the new maps was money down the drain.
When GTA IV comes out, this game goes straight into the garbage can, I swear.

Respectfully, as to whether there’s any information guaranteed this week, there’s plenty of information that 402 has yet to give us that doesn’t depend on him learning anything new, he could’ve started with that until he gets DLC info, but he probably won’t.
Information like: what exactly was included in the ps3 patch? anything that actually fixed anything, other than that horrible bug of a lack of IW logo on everything?
Why are people reporting worse hit detection/lag after the patch?
Why is spawning so seriously screwed up after the patch-spawning in front of enemies, facing walls, into airstrikes?
And what’s the real reason for the delay of DLC, especially when it took less than a day to respond to stories of an Xbox delay? It’s not the PSstore because there was a marked delay before it was even sent for certification.
Why won’t IW address whether they were bought off by microsoft for exclusivity? The more it’s ignored, the more it seems to confirm.
There’s plenty of information 402 could address, but it’s not related to The Great Xbox, so he wont.

the double XP was nice but I am at the 10th prestige level 55, so basically the points didnt do squat for myself. there should have been something special for 10th prestigers, like maybe double headshots(one headshot is worth 2 headshots), That right there would have been great, as I am still working towards my golden weapons. And yes I am a Xbox Fanboy LOL.

What is the point in having 4 maps when the 4th one is only playable on certain game types thats not right . IW you guys need to make the maps playable on all game types . including HQ for Killhouse

Killhouse needs to be on all playlist not just Domination or Ground War . this is a load of crap that there 4 maps but 3 are only playable . I hope all 4 are playable on the PSN

Kind of sad to see Team Objective removed (again), Team Tactical is fun but I like to have the option of the 6 man teams.
Team Objective was offered when COD4 first came out and then they took it away then too.

We need player matches 402. I want to be able to be host of my lobby and pick the maps, game type, score limit, time limit, etc from the lobby. It was in cod2 but suddenly its gone. Im dont with my ranks so I dont care about XP anymore. Give us somthing to continue playing the game for. I want to be able to play the maps ‘MY” lobby wants to play not whatever random map comes up. This is garbage. Ive wrote and wrote to you many times and I get no reply. This is somthing that should have been included in the game from the start. Its standard in many FPS games. Ranked and private is all you give us. PLAYER matches would kinda be inbetween with no xp rewarded and an active server with people just looking to play.

i have not got to prestige yet but on rank 43 - having to play with all these hardcore killers on the new maps was not always fun - but i am now starting to get some good kills in - for the first time did some serious damage on shipment and freeforall on killhouse is amazing mental fun.
already look forward to the next map packs!

hey i like have the new maps in the rotation, but honestly, out of the 3 hours i played yesterday i played on broadcast twice and chinatown once, oh and wet works, 6 times!! this is rediculous! i want to just play the new maps. why cant you just keep them in the rotation, but put back the variety map categories!! PLEASE!!! a lot of people on the xbox.com forums also want the playlists!!!!!!!

I don’t like the sound of this, so when the maps come out for the ps3 you will do this to our servers to. So you will force me to buy the map pack because I will be kicked from most if not all the games I join because I lack the maps, this better not happen

Actually it works fine for ppl without the new maps on the 360, and my guess it will work in a similar way for the PS3. If a player without the new maps enters a party, the DLC content gets disabled for all players in that party. The party then heads out to play original maps only… And to tell you the truth, a lot of people are already bored with the DLC maps and very often vote to skip as soon as they show up (Killhouse never shows up when you choose to play Hardcore TD).
