Thats awesome to hear especially after reading a bunch of negative posts with the other post.

That aside, one request I would like to add under options, would be access to the Audio Device settings. Most games feature this and it comes in handy when my headset is not working correctly. It has nothing to do with the game, but it just makes it easier then quiting the game if I need to change a setting if I can access it in game. I admit I was one to say orginally that I would not purchase the map packs, but after playing them on a friends 360, I can’t wait to play these on PS3. They truly give it a new play style, especially Chinatown with all the halls and rooms. Although most of my friends have stopped playing already, I hope these maps will bring them back on. I think with added content on a monthly basis would keep players happy for months to come. (come on get a golden skin for the mp5 for instance). And some exclusive content to go with Home would be an added plus. (Just look at what other games are doing for ideas) . Another question I always wondered… I wish there was full stat tracking to all your kills. I would love to know how many grenade kills, helicopters i had etc, etc. Now for some challenges, they keep track of how many times you’ve completed “whatever”, but after you complete it, it stops counting. Now heres the question, Is there somewhere that stores this information that keeps tracking it and maybe with a patch/update could be available in the barracks? Or does it just keep track til its done, and thats that?

I think Romenz is talking about the increase in ‘connection interrupted’ errors since the feature patch became available.

I used to have a great connection before the feature patch, but now I get kicked from 1/3 of the games I play (due to ‘connection interrupted’).

Half the time it’s hard for me to keep a connection between 1-2 bars, where as before I was regularly at 3-4 bars

it is the same issues the whole ps3 community is talking about since the game is out.
- host ends game, though the host doesn’t leave
- gamelobbies get closed
- overtime at server connection messages
it often becomes a mess to find a game which is not ended right away.

if just these could be fixed i would love the game though there are still some balance problems the community has recognised. =/

I have a few things to say about some of the problems that many people are currently experiencing:

-Host Ends Game

You not only get booted out of a game you might be winning but you get booted out of your party. It is just a pain to get back together especially if its a large group of people.

-Team Killing On HardCore
I really hate this. Can’t you guys maybe have a perma ban system or something like that so if someone TKs they know not to do it again. It’s horrible when you’re in a game and bam noobtube kills your whole team.

-Ground War Lag! With 18 people playing the lag is just unbearable. Especially on maps like bog and countdown. After 2minutes or so of play you just have to quit. It’s that bad.

-Connection Interrupted
I hate this. It’s even more annoying than the Host Ended game because not only does it happen a lot more often, you might be the only one in a game who gets this and gets booted. Meanwhile your whole party is still playing unaware. Again a pain to get back together.

-Problems with being matched
I really don’t appreciate being sent to a game thats about to end, especially if the team i get put on is loosing. Would it be so darn hard to have a popup or something asking me “This game is about to end, would still like to join” or something like that.

Other than these problems there are still a few problems here and there but these can be overlooked because nothing is perfect.

You might think these problems are happening because maybe my connection is crap or something. It’s not.

Uh hate to tell you this but the PC is better than the PS3 and 360 combined. I have two of each. Oh wait make that 3 PC’s that out do all consoles.

Anyway I just hope the servers work this weekend. You know fourzerotwo, the PS3 is just a console. We’re not all bad people. As much as I would like to shoot you in the face I don’t hold a grudge for the treatment you’ve given us PS3 users.

Jenn I am aware of the fact that the pc version is better. I have played it myself on a few occasions however since almost none of my friends play it on pc, i really can’t play it on pc either. And also like Jenn said i am annoyed at the problems but i don’t hold a grudge. Also i really don’t want to give the impression that i don’t like the game. I love it. It’s very hard to put down. But as i mentioned in the previous post sometimes its just problematic.

When does GOTY come out? I pre-ordered at the Game Stop store and they say May 7th. Game Stop website says April 24th. Which is it? I don’t want to pay for the maps when I can have a free voucher.

The biggest issue is desync / hit detection in the PS3 version (I can’t say to what degree it exists on the other versions).

Before the January update things were fine, immediately after the update we started having what appeared to be hit detection problems. Then it looked like desync with kill cams being grossly out of whack with what you saw on your screen, although it did explain why you just put 3/4 of a clip into a guy and he didn’t die.

This is usually regardless of how many bars you have, I never dip below 3 unless connected overseas and usually have 4, but the desync / hit detection persists.

We’ve been asking since January, and if you need further information, 402, go to the IW forums and look up Vanthem’s posts, you’ll find plenty of threads on the subject, some with some very useful detective work by other members of the forum.

This is the fundamental reason why I stopped playing as have about 80 percent of the people on my friends list. The lack of response is why I gave up, but hey, what’s one more shot right?

Hmm Vanthem i really don’t seem to be having any of these problems. Maybe it’s a problem with a specific gun or something, or maybe a specific ISP?

I’ve nay-sayed from time to time but with respect to the maps I’ve withheld from buying into the usual bash-fest on the IW-CoD4 forums and it would seem that karma has paid off for a change.

Now… if only the PlayStation store for Australia & New Zealand released by OUR timezone instead of Europe’s in order to avoid the usual frozen-server schmozzles we run into when the rest of the world wakes up, then we’d be very, very happy non-campers

How do you sign up for Play with Infinity-ward for PS3? Also there are people who can call in helicopter after helicopter after earning the first one, you shoot it down immediately and the guy calls in another one WITHOUT calling in UAV or an Airstrike. I know sometimes you don’t have time to call in the UAV or the airstrike but these people are calling in helicopters in left and right and at the end of the match I do the math and considering how many kills they have and you have it shouldn’t have been posible to call in that many helicopter with the whole team, never the less the same person. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE PUNISHED!!!

Hey 402 I’m really pissed that the 360 got the maps 1st, that there is no date for the Aussie PSN release and that there is no answers for this.
I have COD4 on PC and PS3 and I cannot understand why you are charging for the maps; haven’t you heard of any Valve games like CSS? Buy the game get the rest free?? Also I would much rahter you fix all the lag issues for Aussies and the constant party dissonection. Plus some of the maps like Bog I get a crap framerate on (PS3 not PC). Also me and a mate play off the same modem but sometimes one of us just cannot d/l the game settings when we 1st load up unless we start the game at the same time but this is fine when we both use different modems. Please fix these things then you can ask me to pay for these maps!

I hate to say it, but the new maps seem too little, too late. I just don’t seem too eager to pay $10 so I can get major lag, “connection interrupted” or “host ends match” among other odd errors to new scenery. I don’t have this type of error on any other game other than COD4. I have little to no issues while playing the Orange Box, Warhawk, Madden, really the list could go on, so I am left to assume that it is an issue on the Demonware server side. If it is supposedly associated with the host, why doesn’t the game find the person most suitable to be the host instead of just the first person in the room in that case?

I have been thoroughly disappointed with Infinity Ward’s patches that either cause more problems than before or removal of game types. I wasn’t such a big fan of Oldcore, but come on, why did Team Objective need to be removed? The last patch the PS3 received only added new kill cams, which I can care less about, and did nothing else positive. Mics randomly cut out now and you can’t communicate with your team until you regroup the party. Communication is overrated and unnecessary for games like Search and Destroy anyways, right?

I was really excited about Infinity Ward and their concern for the PS3 community by building the game from the ground up instead of making a garbage port. It seems now that they are overwhelmingly biased toward the Xbox community. Every time I try and get a response back from Infinity Ward, it seems to fall on deaf ears, or I get a cookie cutter, form letter response back that does not apply to my concerns. I’m a member of both the Infinity Ward forums and CharlieOscarDelta, and it appears that any suggestions or complaints by members there are ignored. What can we do to make ourselves heard, and what is the incentive for me to buy the maps if the game is just going to continue to play like garbage? What does it take to get simple things fixed? Who should we appeal to so that we can get issues resolved or does Infinity Ward even care?

^^^ True! The last patch didn’t fix anything for me. I got new kill cams but now I have more connection interrupted than before. I also have the issue with mics cutting out mid game and not being able to communicate with teammates. Host migration is a joke and clearly does not work or wasn’t included in the patch. When a host ends a game you just have to regroup your party after getting booted from the game.

I have one big issue right now. Beef down the M16. At first, I thought it was just a good gun and not a problem, but the game’s been out for a while and a lot of players have gotten better. You said a while back that you didn’t think the M16 was some boomstick that automatically beats every other gun. Well, I’m not sure what game you’re talking about, but in CoD4, the M16 is way too unbalanced. There are different classes of weapons for a reason. SMGs excel up close, sniper rifles achieve long-distance kills, assault rifles are mid-ranged weapons, and the weapons are in classes for balance reasons. You can’t have an SMG that can snipe people. Not only would that be unrealistic, it would be unbalanced. You can’t have a weapon in its own class doing another weapon’s job better that’s in a different class. And this is exactly what the M16 does. You can snipe with it, it beats all other assault rifles, it can be used up close as effectively as more than half the smgs, it doesn’t have enough recoil, but worst of all, it can one-burst-kill. Yes, everyone has access to the weapon, but if you’re trying to do weapon challenges with the lesser guns like the G36C, M14, etc… the M16 will 100% rape you.

Wow, there sure are a lot of complaints for an announcement that we’ve all been waiting for… Isn’t it obvious that 402 will only get to play with a limited amount of people? Sure there are problems, I’ve been having the same errors that everyone has been having with the connection interrupted, etc. but I still love to play this game more than any other. I also have problems with the hit detection…but every game has problems. I’m sure it’s being worked on. There are many reasons I’m sure that xcrap gets priority–the main one is it has far outsold the ps3 version. I mean, there are more xboxes because it’s been out a year longer and it’s cheaper (and I’m sure Microsoft threw a ton of money at it as well like they usually do). Personally, I think it’s great that the map packs are coming out, even if they’re not free. Who isn’t getting tired of all the same old maps? Oh, and don’t get me started on the PC/ps3 comparison…My ps3 didn’t cost 2-3000 dollars just to be able to play a game decently.

I said I wasn’t buying these a week ago. I knew deep down I couldn’t resist it, it’s in my blood, to kill all you suckers with my sniper rifle in creek. You won’t see it hit you, just a kill cam, or my accuracy. I’m like a ghost. On chinatown I’ll probably take out the g36c, and go ape shit through streets,(it’s the way I roll). You not only get booted out of a game you might be winning but you get booted out of your party. It is just a pain to get back together especially if its a large group of people.

-Team Killing On HardCore :-

I really hate this. Can’t you guys maybe have a perma ban system or something like that so if someone TKs they know not to do it again. It’s horrible when you’re in a game and bam noobtube kills your whole team.

-Ground War Lag! :-

With 18 people playing the lag is just unbearable. Especially on maps like bog and countdown. After 2minutes or so of play you just have to quit. It’s that bad.

-Connection Interrupted :-

I hate this. It’s even more annoying than the Host Ended game because not only does it happen a lot more often, you might be the only one in a game who gets this and gets booted. Meanwhile your whole party is still playing unaware. Again a pain to get back together.

-Problems with being matched :-

I really don’t appreciate being sent to a game thats about to end, especially if the team i get put on is loosing. Would it be so darn hard to have a popup or something asking me “This game is about to end, would still like to join” or something like that.
