Since this is the first, I feel it deserves a bit of an introduction. I’ve decided to kick off a video blog on the site, with the first episode lovely titled “The One About Nothing” being posted above. The concept behind the new video blog is to allow you guys a more visual look into game development or anything else you want.
As I said in the video, let me know what you guys want to see. I know there has been a lot of request to see some footage inside Infinity Ward as well as other things and I’m hoping this little video blog will allow us to do that. Ever wonder what a development kit looks like? how it works? Or what the game looks like in the eye of a designer? Ever want to see inside the studio or check out the offices?
Also feel free to ask questions about anything from the game, to how to get into the industry, to what a daily life in development is like. I think it’d be a cool way to get you guys more connected with the development of our games and the industry in general for any fans or potential future game developers. So let me know what you think and how we can make this work as I’d love to start doing them on a regular basis.

I think I’m going to hold back on purchasing any DLC for CoD4 until PS3 owners get some more solid support.

I think people are just bitter about the “turd of a console” aspect of that post.
I only bring it up because it was on Digg today. Perhaps some sort of address to that and a retraction would help the PS3 owners out there get over it, and maybe be more interested in supporting IW?
Honestly, I’m not going to lie. I’m looking forward to CoD6, especially after the announcement that IW would be the exclusive developer, but if you read the comments on that page you can see that there are A LOT of pissed of PS3 owners right now.
Just thought it should be brought to your attention.

Let me say I think its awesome that u wanna start the map contest only for worldwide cuz I live in Europe, but on the other hand as a PC Gamer I feel treated like shit, Cod 4 is awesome but seeing the console gamers prefered and hyped on everything new first, in an FIRST PERSON SHOOTER wich in my opinion are ment to be played with a Mouse and not a fu**ing controller, so thats whats really ridiculous about the whole “New Map Stuff”!
I play this on ladders, do u guys have any idea how long it will take until new maps are on ladders and leauges aspecially??? So I love this game and you guys do a great job but plz dont ever do such BS again!

Your video makes your communications that little more personal, I’d be interested to see what projects Infinity Ward are currently working on, I don’t think I have seen any developer being quite so up close and personal as this, long may it continue.
I know it’s quite difficult to comment, however, are you able to say whether Infinity Ward are currently looking into the Lag/De-sync issue on the PS3? (you must be fed up getting asked that question), even just to know you are working on it would be greatly appreciated.
I like the video blog and hope you get a few constructive ideas to add to it.

No offense, but from all the comments on this site, charlieoscardelta and the IW forums, you should know what the players want to talk about. That’s right, cod4.
I don’t know if you are doing this videoblog on your free time, if you are you can talk about anything you want.
But if your doing this videoblog on work time, you know it’s about cod4 patches and the map contest people want to hear about, and as a community manager, you should fullfill your communitys needs the best you can, and therefore give as much info as you can about 1.6/CMP etc .

I too would love to hear “hints” of COD6.
Since this is 6 months into release; normally you should look at the next big game, but I am so far from through with COD4 it isn’t even funny. Every single person in our SSP is still 99% on COD4; and I don’t see it letting up anytime soon.

how do you get into the industry? i play games competitivley im active on forums and i keep up to date with the latest technology. i hack into my schools computer regularly making myself admin and changing my teachers passwords. im very tech savy. but it seems like because i dont live in LA or NY or Chicago or something there is just no outlet for me to make my way. any suggestions? i dont knwo what i would want to do in the industry. anything from game desgin to just talking to people for a company. or character art design. (i am a realistic portrait painter, i like to use oil and acrylics)

could you sort out the new spawn probs im fed up of spawning under an airstrike or next to a grenade or worse in front of someone firing there rifle.
Once i spawned right next to member on my team and he got sniped and it hit me too luckly it didn’t kill me but man was it close

Let me put it like this:
I have two other hobbies per say; old GTO’s and playing guitar.
As for the Pontiacs; I always looked for anything John Delorean or Bill Knafel had to say about Pontiac, and then on down the line like Pontiac Engineer Tom Nell who was a big part of the Ramair V program.
For the guitar; I started off reading and studying every thing Stevie Ray did, and then some of the older blues guys like Muddy Albert and Freddie.
A thirst for knowledge of the things you are interested in; that’s what I’m saying.
Before COD4; I was heavy on MOH, but the funny thing there is I wasn’t so much into the game development as I was pushed into studying WWII.
So now we have COD4. There isn’t really any historical subject matter to follow with COD4; however, if you (as in 402) want to feed us inside information I am all ears.
Seeing your offices and work stations would be cool; and maybe a video couple of the developers who are REAL COD4 fans and not just developers. Maybe all the devs are COD4 fans? Whichever, I’ll listen to anything you have to say on COD4 or upcoming COD projects are any other similar FPS.
I would also be curious on your take of why EA ******* up MOHA MP so bad, if you have any insight that is.

I take that back about COD4 not having any historical significance; I read Chris Ryan’s book The One That Got Away because of COD4 and plan on reading Andy McNabb’s account next. For those that aren’t familiar with these two guys, they are S.A.S that had a mission go desperately wrong in Desert Storm.

I sent PM’s to two of the Dev’s on the list and tried to add one and the celebrity; I never got a pending notification like you normally get when adding someone and never got PM’s back from the two Dev’s asking for a fun clan match. Never saw one IW online the entire weekend; never saw any feedback on any of the forums of anyone playing with them, winning a prize, or anything else.
I know it would be only a very small percentage of players to end up seeing any of them online; but you would have thought the odds would be increased for us that follow the forum. Anyone that didn’t follow the forum or read the annoucement on Xbox wouldn’t even have a clue what was going on.
Maybe the Dev’s just randomly joined games and didn’t take to invites, who knows?

I am a junior in high school and am interested in the entertainment business, especially community relations like what you do. I think you do a fantastic job and I’d like to know how you got your position, more in depth than what your bio offers. I’m interested in what education you got in order to do this line of work, and I’d appreciate any advice or tips on the entertainment business/ marketing. Right now I’m looking at Full Sail University for the Entertainment Business major, and then after college I’d like to direct that towards the video games industry. Any way you can talk about what is in the works over at IW? Maybe about upcoming patches or upcoming projects that are in the works. I do know there have been a lot of complaints about the spawning system and how it hasn’t really been solved yet. Can we expect anything in the future regarding this matter?

Nice video Blog! I would like to hear about what you guys at IW think of GTA4 when it drops. But don’t rub it in our faces if you get it early. I want to hear from developers about what they find special about different titles. I think it would be different then what we would think. Maybe it’s the texture of the background, or a cool idea for a mini game.

Will there be new prestiges, weapons, perks, maps in the future? You know you could make SO MUCH money if you just released 5 new prestiges, old people would come back faster than ever and you’d be seeing higher numbers than the map pack release…I would also definately be a CoD4 slave again…instead of a casual one now that I’m stuck at the golden cross. =/

First of all I LOVE IT!! The video blog is SWEET!! Yeah I would like to know about maybe silenced Snipers, Maybe?? And new prestiges packaged with the snipers would be sweet!! You could surprise everyone with an update!! Everyone loves surprise. I think alot of people are leveled up pretty far so new prestiges now would be a good time for a new addition now that the maps are out. And maybe some new perks you get for getting the new prestiges. Like maybe 1 or maybe 2 perks a prestige. That would definetly regain some of the Experienced COD Gamers who feel like they have nothing else to play for. Love The Site!!! Thanks fourzerotwo!!!!

I think you do a fantastic job and I’d like to know how you got your position, more in depth than what your bio offers. I’m interested in what education you got in order to do this line of work, and I’d appreciate any advice or tips on the entertainment business/ marketing. Right now I’m looking at Full Sail University for the Entertainment Business major, and then after college I’d like to direct that towards the video games industry.
