It’s time! The Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™ Variety Map Pack is available now for download through the PLAYSTATION®Network. To celebrate the launch, we’re hosting a Double XP Weekend, where players can earn twice as many experience points as they the new Variety Map Pack playlists on the new multiplayer maps starting at 12:01 GMT, Friday, April 25 through 11:59 PDT, Sunday, April 27 - although in all reality it’ll probably stop around Monday morning or so.
We’ll also be doing Play With Devs tomorrow on Friday, April 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. EDT.Make sure to add the following PLAYSTATION Network IDs to your friend’s list:

The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack features four new multiplayer maps including “Broadcast,” featuring tight corridors and wide open parking lots where large groups will utilize close-quarter fighting and strategic maneuvers; “Chinatown” where night battles well lit by the full moon can play havoc against a backdrop of brightly colored lamps, antique shops and neon signs of the local district; “Killhouse,” a desolate warehouse under enemy attack where squads will need to move through building mock-ups and plywood walls in order to take control of the combat arena; and “Creek,” a wide open village in a heavily wooded area where battles are fought among high ridgelines and deep in underground caves.
Additionally, the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition for the PLAYSTATION 3 system will ship to North American retailers on May 6 which includes a token to access the new multiplayer maps featured in the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack.

a. I am not playing the dlc maps for many reason, alot to do with the 3 months of hell iw have put ps3 players though, 8 weeks for eu connectivty patch, two week delay for no reason of the feature patch, the lack of host migration in the feature patch, the three week delay of the dlc.

how will people who dont have the maps play? i.e. once the maps have been integreted into the other game modes; what would happen when the map cycle turns to a new map? would we get kicked out? or would they be a seperate playlist for new maps?
i.e. before we get to select anything from the playlist you get two options, to choose playlists with the new map packs and one without a map pack? (map pack option disabled for ppl who dont have the map pack, ofcourse )

i sadly broke down and brought them, I just couldn’t resist it. Creek is so big it feel like going aon a trek just to get from one side to the other. When I’m in the cave I think it’s the batcave. Surprising that not many people use the outside of broadcast that much, but I think they will in the future.

402, after this weekend the new maps are supposed to be integrated into the normal rotations, but is it possible to leave to options to play on only the new maps like it is right now? This way we can ensure that the rotation doesn’t get too saturated, and our favorite maps will have a better chance of coming up.

The variety map pack types are the ONLY game types that net you double xp. No you can’t keep the new playlists, if we can’t than you can’t either. Killhouse should be on team tactical or cage match. We also got the connection interrupted alot too since EVERYONE was online. If you’re not buying the maps, consider yourself a loser because these maps truly are great and your friends will laugh at you because you’re holding them back. If you havn’t gotten the new maps yet guess what? No double xp for you, go sell some games or porn and get your 10 bucks to play on these awesome maps.

The maps are pretty awesome, alot more corners and heights to watch, which make them that more difficult.

Killhouse didn’t show up at all for me, as well.
And the 2X exp. was going on for the regular TDM variety earlier yesterday.
If host migration was implemented in the 1.30 patch, it worked off and on.

Like I said, you all are MILES ahead of where we as 360′ers were on this day in time for us.
I’m not sure who they are playing with, but it appears they are playing this time.
It seems odd to me they advertise it here on the net; yet would not make special effort to play with us that are here following this.
If they just join in random matches with people that don’t follow things like this blog, the Live event in the match is relatively pointless IMO.

Killhouse should have been in the rotation of all the variety choices….when it says 4 maps ready to play online against others was a little vague and misleading.
Still, the more SEVERE problems are the host migration and the game lobby closed. These happen way to much and needs to be corrected…
I like the new maps, but I bet most people would have rather had smoooth uninterupted gameplay first before other additions.
For the posts that are meaningful, and if you say you read all of them, can you please address these situations and post to the players actually trying to help you with feedback to create a better game. Thanks

i think it is funny how many people basically payed for 3 maps …lol @ u all … he comes back and makes all nice and you stupid suckers bought the new maps … which were adverstised as 4 but in reality you got 3 … congrats guys for making a bad company even worse … buy buying these maps you helped them line their pockets for more awesome updates for their precious xbox …. so to all that bought the maps YOU deserve to deal with how crappy the online portion of this game is…. after all you get what you pay for

Dunno if you boys read the small print but u can download these maps five times on five seperate PS3s….. So basically get ya m8s to sign in wit your username an check ur download section in the PS store, and jus download it from there! Maybe i shouldnt print this on this site……….

It was £6.99 in the UK, guess what, I can afford to blow that much money on a set of maps, I spend much more getting a meal in a restaurant, only the meal in the restaurant doesn’t last as long. We received 4 maps, Killhouse was a Free Bonus map, this was well advertised prior to the maps being on release, Killhouse will be found in FFA, and Team Tactical I believe, besides, Creek, Broadcast & China Town are worth the £6.99 in their own right, they are well made and the lighting effects are great, but then you won’t experience that.
You didn’t want to buy them so you feel that everyone else shouldn’t either? Don’t push your feelings on everyone else, we are all old enough to decide what we want to spend our money on without requiring any input from you.
Try using capitalisation and full stops in your sentence structure, you might be taken a little more seriously, you type like a 9 year old. Take some advice from your own username.
